Birmingham, Sept., 27th 1915.
Dear Sire,
We have the pleasure to acknowledge the
receipt of your letter of the 25th. instant, in reference to lamp holders for which we are obliged, and in reply thereto beg to. say we make lamp holders but not inthis country and at the present time we are not prepared to state the location of our factory beyond a guarantee that it is in hostile country. We understand that in the case of shipping the goods to Hongkong it is necessary to make a declaration regarding the country of origin and to get over this difficulty we are prepared to ship the pods through Messrs. Thomas Cooke & Sons to their agents in Hongkong and they will undertake to deliver to your clients on that side. Payment would be made in London against receipt for shipping documents endorsed by Messrs. T. Cooke & Sons, the goods would be put free on board London but all other charges such as freight insurance and landing and clearing at the port of destina- -tion would be payable to Mesare. T. Cooke & Sons on delivery of the goods. We enclose herewith quotations as requested and trust to receive your esteemed orders in due course.
Yours faithfully,
(sd.) Donovan & Co
